ARTISANS AND CRAFTERS 2008
Enjoy seeing and buying the original work produced by the exhibiting artists and crafters who will
be attending this year's festival in Lakefield. The list below (some of the latest exhibitors may not yet be listed)
gives you some idea of who will be there!

Come and see the many exhibits staffed by some 24 local artists and crafters.
Jewellery, wood furniture, oil and water color paintings, wood carvings, weaving, stained glass creations, etc.

Laura Hill - Armchair Images
Laura sells beautiful matted, photographs. Many of her images depict exotic landscapes using black and white film as well as dynamic colors.
She produces a variety of photographic prints from home and away. Laura strives for honest and realistic representations of moments in time.
Frank and Glenda Castellano Creative Instincts
One of a kind, copper sculptural pieces and garden art for indoor and outdoor décor.
They also design pieces from turned cedar and novelty items such as cement mushrooms. Customs order can be taken.
Carol Showler-Lee - Artist
Exquisite decorative and functional stoneware.
Natural themes depicted in the form of candleholders, planters and teapots.
All work is thrown or slab built or sculpted by the artist, who uses original glazes.
Dylan Mannik-Zulinski - Artist
Dylan is a young and upcoming artist currently training at the University of Guelph.
Her unique talent is showcased in a variety of mediums including pencils drawings, acrylic painting and a few sculptural pieces.
All works are very original and express her passion for contemporary social issues.
Her vibrant personality colors each piece, which range from portraitures to representations of landscapes.
Gladys Gaerttner - Pottery
Brightly hand painted and carved gourds depicting natural scenes, animals and First nations symbology.
Gaerttner also uses the unique method of pyrography on her works.
Most of her original designs have a Southwestern flair from her many travels and years living in Utah and Arizona.
She will also have free seeds if anyone wants to grow their own gourds.
Ken Logan - Unique wood Creations
Beautiful, one-of-a-kind wooden bowls, vases and platters all polished and turned on a lathe.
Ken specializes in bring out the complex patterns of burled wood.
Sheila Smith – Glassics
Sheila focuses her talent on hand-painted glassware, including wine glasses, tea lites, vases and decanters.
She also will do custom work for all special occasions including weddings, showers and anniversaries.
At her booth there will also be handmade wooden clocks for sale.
Corin Ford Forrester - Photography
Sophisticated framed and matted photographs, both in color and black and white.
Corin's work focuses on nature and landscape images and on art photographs, which explore human impact on the environment.
Hieda and Don Skillen – Cold Creek Reflections
Heida and Don create fine art paintings in acrylics, oil, pastels and charcoal.
They also make and sell Aboriginal based crafts in leather, beadwork, painted paddles, stones, feathers and jewellery.
Marilyn and Alan Winarski – KLW Enterprises
Ontario artist Marilyn Winarski creates humorous, inspired and useful jewelry.
Her original creations combine a variety of techniques and materials.
The pins, earrings, and eyeglass holders are made from a range of media including, but not limited to, metal, leather, wood, acrylic, paper fibers,
semi-precious stones, natural minerals and glass beads to create distinctively whimsical designs.
Barbara Bellchambers , Mary Gladwin and Andrea Bellchambers - A Women;s Torch
This booth will feature unique, hand-crafted, hard shelled gourds as well as original watercolor paintings by Mary Gladwin
and hand-made jewelry by Andrea Bellchambers. Barbara’s gourds have won awards by both “Gourdfest” (2003-2007),
the annual festival of the Canadian Gourd Society and at the Canadian Wood Carvers Championships in Hamilton (Jan. 2007-2008)
John Boorman
John is a seasoned and well known contemporary wood carver. His whimsical and dynamic sculptural pieces reflect a variety of themes.
Linda Rowling – Gem, Souls
Linda sells one of a kind unique jewelry designs using gemstones, sterling silver, beads, leather, ribbons and other media.
Sally Yardley and Cheryl Ellis
Cheryl Ellis uses exotic colors to create her highly popular hand-cast, one-of-a-kind, concrete outdoor garden globes.
Her drawings and paintings are just as fanciful, capturing figurative and abstract images that express her fascination with all things seen and unseen.
Sally Yardley continues to refine her unique, textured, semi-abstract landscapes, inspired by the vistas of the Kawartha Lakes.
Together Sally and Cheryl will present new original sculptures, paintings and drawings as well as giclee prints and offset lithographic prints
of both new and timeless works.
Barbara Adams - CAMMAC Ontario Music Center
CAMMAC is a non-profit organization that firmly believes that playing music together creates a bond
between people that transcends age, language and cultural differences.
In the Kawartha region they provide is a music camp for adults and families.
Amateur musicians of all levels are welcome to participate in one or two unforgettable music-filled weeks.
The camp runs at the Lakefield College School
Ruth Dyer – Coral Door Studio and Gail West – The English Potter
Ruth makes rag rugs out of recycled fabrics. They come in a variety of sizes and colours and are suited for home and cottage.
Gail incorporates textured glazes, lattice technique and impressions from the elements of nature in a stunning array of both decorative and functional pottery pieces.
Anne Cavanagh - Portrait Artist
Anne focuses on realistic portraits and figurative artwork created in both traditional (acrylic, graphite) and non-traditional
(beeswax, dried grasses, natural materials) mediums.
Meredith Bebbington – MOD Jewelry
Meredith sells handcrafted wire and chain mail jewelry in sterling silver and 14K gold filled wire.
She also uses semi-precious stones, crystals and fire glass beads.
Lesley Blayney - ModDog
ModDog is a hip young Canadian company devoted to designing and creating funky, fashionable and functional dog wear and
accessories that are sure to turn heads and unleash smiles.
Utilizing recycled textiles, mod fabrics and cool vintage buttons, each ModDog creation is lovingly designed and personally handcrafted.
Matt McMillian and Nadia Buwalda - Jewelbox Art
Unique handcrafted jewelry, mostly turquoise, hand cut and polished semi-precious stones set in sterling silver.
They have a wide variety of items ranging from necklaces to bracelets, earrings and rings.
They also sell raw crystals.
